A workshop on Varnam “Nee Inda Mayam” in Raagam Dhanyasi composed by Papanasam Sivan, was organised on 14th and 15th March 2026, at Kanaka Sabha, Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya, by the Alumni Association.
Dr. Meenakshi Iyer Gangopadhyay, Associate Professor and Head of the Department (Dance) at Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya was invited to conduct the workshop. The two-day workshop proved to be an enthralling and enriching experience for everyone who attended. She focused on the subtle nuances of the Varnam and explained them through an easy, systematic approach, making the learning process both insightful and enjoyable for all participants.
Sincere gratitude to Dr. Uma Rele, the Principal of Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya, for her constant support and guidance for all the activities of the Alumni Association.
The alumni of Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya joined the session both online and offline, contributing to a lively and meaningful discussion through their active participation. Kudos to Smt. Madhuri Pratap (Treasurer - Alumni Association) and Smt. Saji Nair (Secretary - Alumni Association) for the efficient organization of the event.
