Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya had the honour of presenting a compelling and aesthetically rich dance production titled “Prithivi  on 3rd February 2026 at the prestigious Homi Bhabha Theatre, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Colaba.

This thoughtfully curated production explored the philosophical concept of the Panch Mahabhutas — Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air), and Akasha (Space) — the five fundamental elements believed to constitute the universe according to Indian thought. The production was uniquely envisioned as a confluence of four Indian classical dance forms: Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and Mohiniattam, each style contributing its distinctive movement vocabulary, aesthetics, and emotional depth to the overarching theme.
Each Individual style presented their separate presentations 
Bharata Natyam - Shiva Tandava
Odissi - Ashtapadi
Kathak - Tarana
Mohini Attam - Ganpati

Through seamless transitions, group synchrony, and individual stylistic expressions, the Nalanda troupe brought alive the elemental energies of nature, highlighting the interdependence of all creation and the harmony that binds the cosmos.
