1. Aquire advance knowledge of tala and variation in recitation.

2. To analyse the complimentry nature of Music and Talas to the dance.

3. To aquire kanowledge of ragas useful for items and even the uncommon ragas .

Choreography

1. To understand and analyse traditional choreography .

2. Aquire knowledge of norms of choregraphy .

History of Development and comparative study of Dance

1. To understand and collate the history of dance through Indian litrature .

2. Aquire textual knowledge of Dance through Vedas, Epics, Puranas, Natya, Kavya and South Indian Literature.

3. To understand the importance of sahitya in Dance.

Sculpture, Painting , Iconography and Temple Architecture and Dance

1. To understand the concept of interdependence of arts.

2. To analyse and understand the significance of fine, performing and plastic art forms.

3. To relate it to contemporary Classical forms.

Practical Electives ( Bharata Natyam/ Mohini Attam)
